Summer Wear to Work Dress

navy midi dress for summer
Summer wear to work clothing can be challenging. If your office is anything like mine, it’s chilly 365 days of the year! Layers are most definitely a necessity. A few weeks ago, I spotted this dress and thought it would be a cute and cool summer dress. Easily throw on a jacket or a cardigan to create the perfect summer wear to work dress.

Summer Wear to Work Dress

When I first saw this dress (which is now on sale for $25 and available in several colors!) I loved the longer length and twist detail around the waist. Finding length-appropriate dresses for your 9-5 can be challenging. At least it’s been challenging for me in the past few months! So when I saw this easy to wear, solid midi, I scooped it up immediately. And that was before it was on sale! Now that it has been marked down, I’m thinking about adding additional colors to my closet. You can even wear this into fall (or if your office is as cold as mine!) with a blazer, jacket or sweater. And I love that it can be styled casually with sandals or sneakers and a denim jacket. A super versatile piece!
As for accessories, I went with my go-to spring and summer satchel handbag (similar here) and my favorite beige pumps. I’ve had these pumps for a few years and discovered the brand after Kate Middleton made them famous! It’s a super chic pump for the workday.

A Famous House

While we take most of the pictures for the blog in Georgetown, this outfit has a special shooting location. For all you history buffs, this house in the background once had a famous resident: President John F. Kennedy. He lived in this house while running for President and held quite a few press conferences on these front steps. He even departed from this house in January of 1961 to attend his Inauguration! You can read more about this house and other famous Kennedy locations in Georgetown here. I’m a huge history nerd so I had to share this fun piece of history with you!
Have a wonderful Wednesday, friends! Since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale goes live to the public on Friday, I will be back then with a brand new sale round up. Thanks for reading and see you then!
