With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I wanted to share some of my favorite dresses. Instead of sticking to strictly "Valentine’s Themed" outfits, as pretty as they may be, I wanted to keep things more classic and versatile, with a roundup of Little Black Dresses that you’ll actually be able to wear again.
No matter who you are, or where you live — every lady needs a little black dress. Totally ok if you don’t have some fancy, romantic dinner to go to this Valentine’s day. But you may have a fun girl’s night, cocktail event, reception, or party around the corner and better to have an LBD on hand instead of getting in a bind when presented with the opportune moment!
LITTLE BLACK DRESS:
A little black dress is supposed to be a confidence booster. Silhouette is #1 — Pick an area you want to accentuate (ie: Legs, collar bone, décolletage, back) and find your perfect fit from there. Winter’s a bit tricky because it’s SO cold, but it’s also an opportune time to invest. This time of year is when I bought my Black Self Portrait Dress 70% off, I just found this Sandro Dress on sale 60%, and also linked lots of other options that I love. Even if you don’t have anything particularly imminent, you’ll always need a little black dress at some point!
All my LA friends, you just keep enjoying that sunshine. Londoners and everyone else who understands the biting chill of winter, do yourself a favor and invest in some tights. My favorite luxury brand is Wolford — I’m wearing the Pure 10’s which are a bit more sheer as you can tell. I also have several other finishes— Sheer Luxe, 40, 30 — if you’re looking for different styles from Wolford. If you’re after something more high street — I recommend the 3 for 2 tights at H&M. I just picked up boxes for me and my roommates. They’re always good to have on hand!
Now for the Louboutins — I keep getting a lot of questions about them… Are they worth the money? Are they comfortable? Can you walk in them? Etc etc. Full disclosure — these were a Christmas gift from my family, so I didn’t splurge on them for myself. However, I do own a few pairs of Louboutins and I always get my money’s worth. These exact heels are the "So Kate" 120mm black suede. They’re definitely a Taxi shoe! I wouldn’t advise walking miles in them… but practicality aside, I absolutely love them! The black suede is my favorite, although this iconic style comes in several colors. They are quite high, but I’ll accept any walking challenge to make my legs look 5 miles longer! Size wise — I’m a US 7.5 and the 38 fits perfectly! I’ll leave the choice to you if you feel like they’re worth the investment, but sizes are frequently sold out and they are hard to track down, so if you are on the verge and find your size, I’d recommend getting them while you can!… You only regret the things you didn’t do
