You know what’s been on my bucket list ever since I moved back to D.C.? Attending a black-tie gala.
I’ve actually never worn a gown in my life, until this past weekend. For prom, both junior and senior year, I thought I was Lauren Conrad and rocked short dresses both years. Big mistake. I’ve been dying to attend an adult prom to get my chance to feel like an IRL princess for years.
On Valentine’s Day, me and my single girlfriends went to a gala at the French Embassy. Side note, if you’re single on Valentine’s Day, dressing up in the fanciest attire and looking good for yourself is THE coolest, most empowering thing you can do! The gala itself was pretty fun, but getting ready was the real highlight of my evening. I tried out Stylisted for the first time, which is basically Uber for makeup and hair services. I requested a makeup artist to come to my home through the touch of a button (her name was Tiffany!), and guys, she knocked it out of the park.  She really listened to what I wanted, my comfort level with makeup, and in the end, I looked like a babe. Someone even asked me what foundation I used at the gala, which has never happened to me in my life!
I also loved Stylisted because I hate running around before major events. I’m always late when I try to dash to the department store to get my makeup done. It was really relaxing to get everything done in the comfort of my own apartment. I really cannot wait to use Stylisted for my next big event. Lucky for me, my birthday is in two short weeks — your girl definitely has to treat herself to this awesome service again!
